TCGA had been set up in 2004, in collaboration with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) of Government of India, through the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB), the leading genomics research institute in India. TCGA is a core shared facility for genomic and proteomics research that include sequencing, SNP scoring and identification services using Sequenom
as well as ABI based methods, micro array, primer design and oligo synthesis. TCGA provides services on fee basis and is currently working from their pilot facility in Delhi and is servicing several academic and commercial research institutions. TCGA will soon move to its own 60,000 sq. ft facility at CSIR campus located on Mathura Road.

Infrastructure

TCGA is equipped with multiple high throughput sequencers, Sequenom MassArray, MALDI TOF based genotyping system, oligo-synthesizers, DNA micro array printing, processing facility Affymetrix Gene Chip and Proteomics facility with MALDI TOF/TOF and 2D Nano LC ESI MS. We use high-end robotics to ensure consistency and data accuracy. We also use specialized software for preliminary and advanced data analysis, the center clearly has cutting edge, industry standard technologies. The center also houses a 288 node Linux cluster with 2 processors per cluster and a HP dome for advance computational work.

Services

TCGA services include wide array of complete solutions in genomics and proteomics services: TCGA currently provides sequencing, genotyping, microarray and proteomic services to over 50 institutions and 100 customer spread across India.
